Leadership

Humility builds trust: Being humble towards others, open and accepting of your shortcomings, your mistakes and asking for help are all things that help to build trust. Spend time thinking about what your fears are around doing any of the above and find ways to overcome them to the benefit of those around you.

Leader as teacher: The best leaders I have ever worked under had a strong teaching style in the way they lead. Mistakes or questions were seen as teachable moments, as learning opportunities that could lead to growth of your team. The worst leaders I have worked under had a puppeteering style; where shouting was used as a way to teach a lesson and fear was used to keep people in line. You will get the best out of people in the short and the long run if you focus on being the teacher.
